Full Description

A crofting township comprising one unroofed, one partially roofed and eight roofed buildings and some fields is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1879-81, sheet cxii). Some field walls are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1971).
Information from RCAHMS (SAH) 16 November 1995

The extensive township of Tacherinroad, recorded by the OS in 1874, just extends into the eastern margin of the survey area. According to map evidence four buildings and associated enclosures and fields should be present but dense gorse covers this area and nothing could be seen. These structures are therefore only assumed to survive. Condition: Not seen. <1>
