Two buildings, situated in the NW corner of an area of rough ground and immediately east of the road, were noted by J Wordsworth. The buildings here were not shown on the earlier OS maps and must be assumed to have been long abandoned by 1872. The area is obscured by tussock grass but there appear to be the remains of 2 longhouses measuring 24m by 5m and 1 lm by 4m respectively. Vague stone footings are visible and it is unclear if they were stone walled or turf walled above these footings. Other features may be obscured by the grassland. <1>

NGR adjusted based on 1999-2001 vertical aerial photographs. <2>
