Full Description

The buildings of this farmstead form a square around a central courtyard and include a byre on the NE, a barn with external horse-engine on the SE, a stable and bothies on the SW, and a flagstone-floored byre on the NW. The steading is arranged over one- and one-and-a half storeys and is of whitewashed roughly coursed flagstone with flagstone or concrete floors and corrugated asbestos roofs. Original half doors remain, some divided horizontally, others vertically, together with original windows with ventilation shutters. The original farmhouse lies detached a short distance to the SW, and a massive new shed has been built in recent years between the steading and Mountpleasant Road to house agricultural machinery, vehicles and articulated lorries. The site was visited in 2000.
