Full Description
Although apparently originally identified by the OS as an unroofed building, it is clearly a natural feature presumably just mis-identified or mis-drawn.
What may be an unroofed shieling-hut is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Inverness-shire 1876-81, sheet ix), but it is not shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1992).
Information from RCAHMS (SAH) 14 May 1996
The site of this feature was visited and photographed by D Jarman in 2026 and found to be an entirely natural bedrock tor which provides unaided windbreak shelter from any aspect. Its roughly rectangular form may be what was drawn on the OS 1st edition map. This tor stands out as a prominent feature on the skyline and surprisingly lacks a name. <1>
