Full Description
Cist found (NAT) OS 1:10,000 map, (1975)
A stone cist was found by Mr A Taylor (Bylbaster) whilst cutting a ditch some years ago. It measured about 5ft by 2ft and contained an urn which held calcined bones and black earth. <1>
No further info was obtained during field investigation. There is nothing to be seen on the ground.
Visited by OS (W D J) 24 April 1963.
The location of the site was visited by C Dagg in 2000 during a walkover survey in advance of a proposed new water main. It was noted that the given location is on the edge of the road buit on the opposite side from the proposed route of the pipeline. <2>
