Cist found 1834 (NAT) OS 1:10,000 map, (1976)
A cist, containing human remains, stone implements and bones of deer was found in 1834 not far from (c60m SE of) the standing stones noted on ND25SW 11, on Greystones farm. Among the implements was a huge stone spoon or ladle.
Name Book 1871
No further info was found regarding this cist or its contents. Visited by OS (W D J) 29 April 1963
A: 'Broch'. Dimensions: 28 x 30m. Grass-covered subcircular mound 3m high with a flat top 4 x 2.5m.
B: Hut-circle. External diameter: 7m. Circular structure with an internal diameter of 2.5m. Entrance to the SE.
