1944. The proceedings of the second support group report a non sub contact at 58 27 18N, 002 52 30W on 20 August 1944 and 6 September 1944.
19 March 1986. Wreckage, or an obstruction, was examined on 8 October 1985 at 58 28 01N, 002 53 11W. NGR eastings 348290, northings 953500. Trisponder ranges: Noss Head 9604 metres; Toft Carl 14748 metres; Quoys of Reiss 16143 metres. Decca = [n scot] red c 17.35, green b 34.30, purple g 65.80. The least echosounder depth was 60 in a general depth of 62 metres. No scouring was observed. The side scan sonar indicated a height of 1.9 metres and length of approximately 8 metres (26 feet). Charted as a foul.
