(ND 0986 2441; ND 0985 2439) Hut Circles (NR)
OS 6" map, (1964)
These two hut circles are set into an E-facing slope in open moorland. The NE circle is 9m in diameter within a wall, 0.9m in average height and spread to 3m wide. The entrance, in SE, appears to be splayed, 4m in length.
The other hut, 6m to SW, is 5m in diameter within a wall 0.5m high and spread to 2m wide. The simple entrance is in the SE.
Both huts have a depression forming a concentric arc around the upper (W) side. This may be natural, but it could be a drainage channel (cf ND02SE 8).
There are three or four contemporary clearance heaps nearby.
Revised at 1:10,000.
Visited by OS (N K B) 8 November 1982.
