A crofting township comprising seventeen roofed, one partially roofed and four unroofed buildings is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire and Cromartyshire 1881, sheet xxii). Seventeen roofed and four unroofed buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1971).

Photographs of "Balnoster", one of the roofed buildings mentioned above, were submitted to the HER in July 2009 following a grant of planning consent for a rear extension. The building is currently roofed in corrugated iron and in a poor state of repair both internally and externally. <1>
