Protected Status
Full Description
On a low spur above the W bank of Dunbeath Water and eroded on its SE side by the river, is a turf-covered hut circle, 8m in diameter within a wall spread to 2m and 0.4m high, in which some core material is exposed. The entrance has been destroyed by erosion. The interior is clear of stones save for three upright slabs just protruding through the turf, which are positioned radially close to the inside of the wall. Superficially this resembles the remains of an aisled house (see ND02NW 1) but the absence of debris in the hut interior renders this classification doubtful. There is no evidence of associated cultivation.
Surveyed at 1:10,000. Visited by OS (NKB) 12 August 1982.
