Full Description
A farmstead, comprising two unroofed buildings and three enclosures, and a field are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Elginshire 1874, sheet xxiv). Three roofed, two unroofed buildings and a field-system are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1975).

On the OS 1st Edition 6" map the farmstead is labelled 'Ruighsean'.
Foundations of several additional buildings are visible on vertical aerial photographs, including some partially hidden by juniper bushes to the north of the access track. <1>
