A longhouse, 19m NW-SE by 5m across and 2-20 courses in height, which appears to be built on the foundation of an earlier structure. In juxtaposition with the longhouse is another structure, 11m by 4.5m with an internal division.
R J Mercer 1981.
The longhouse is as described; the second feature is evident as a low mound.
Visit by OS 7 September 1981.
Renumbered from NC96NE0028A
JHooper, 7/10/2002
This 'building' is labelled 'Sheepfold' on the OS 1st Edition 6" map. Alternatively could it be a last remnant of the lost settlement of Fresgoe? [IS-L 23/01/2023]
