Centred at NN 707 993 is a poorly preserved field system marked by stone clearance heaps. It has been occupied in the S and W by a later deopop. settlement which has left little trace of the earlier cultivation. Visited by OS (A A) 16 May 1974.

This township comprises six clusters of buildings, including three kilns and a mill, strung out along the E bank of the River Calder. A head dyke encloses the better drained ground on the terrace, on which there are several plots. The head dyke post-dates a discrete group of small cairns which have been clipped by ploughing. A further group of small cairns lies to the E.
