The buildings were listed by Historic Scotland in 1986 at Grade B.
Aerial photos were taken by J Bone (in 1999?). <1> <2>
A basic desk-based study of the standing buildings was produced by CFA Archaeology in 2004 in advance of the proposed re-development of the complex. <3>
Photographs taken a few days after a major fire in 2007 were submitted by a member of the public. This former mental hospital is to be converted into flats. <4>
The building was visited by a member of RCAHMS staff in 2011. The restoration is continuing. <5>
