Steamer CARA, of Glasgow, master Charles Robertson. Bound from Finland to Belfast. Lost 11 Oct 1936, 1.30am. Stranded on Black Island, 1 mile east of Kyleakin Lighthouse. Wind south west, moderate. Sea moderate. "Missed the white sector marking the channel by going too far to port. Crew 22 remaining on board. Cargo, wood. Bow being damaged, she was beached in Loch na Beist (Beiste) on Isle of Skye side. Cargo is being transhipped with a view to get her refloated."
