Full Description
Air photogrphy has revealed a possible round house in an area of rough pasture in Strath Spey by Biallaid. It is possible that it is the mark of a feedbin and ground survey is required to confirm its interpretation.(See archive for details).
Information from J Harden 1989.
There are two oval hut-circles and a scatter of small cairns on the haughland of the River Spey, about 450m W of its confluence with the River Calder and 850m S of Biallaid House. The hut-circles stand 50m apart; that to the NE (KING95 97; NN 7035 9786) measures 10.2m from ESE to WNW by 8m within a stony bank 0.5m in height and spread to a thickness of 2.4m; that to the SW (KING95 98) measures 10.8m from E to W by 9.1m within a bank 0.3m in height and spread to 1.5m in thickness. The entrances are on the ESE and E respectively. At least fifteen small cairns, the largest 7m in diameter and 0.5m in height were recorded to the E of the NE hut-circle, in an area measuring about 100m from NE to SW by 40m transversely.
