Full Description
A stone- and turf- bank, which is situated NW of Druim Dhonn and Allt na Luib to the S of Allt na Criche, was recorded during the course of a pre-afforestation survey undertaken by J Wordsworth. The bank measures up to 3m in width at the base narrowing to 0.4m at the crest and stands up to 1.5m high in places. It is shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10560 map (1968) between NH 0704 9177 and NH 0692 9169. Here, it joins a well maintained stone bank which may be the march bank between Kildonan sheep farm and Badrallach and, if so, would have been erected c.1850. The turf and stone bank may be an earlier boundary used before the clearances in this area.
