A township, comprising ten roofed buildings, one unroofed building, a horse gang and eight enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Nairnshire 1871-4, sheet v). Five roofed buildings and one enclosure are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1980).
Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 6 August 1996.
Planning consent has been granted for the demolition of redundant buildings at Achnatone Farm Steading and the erection of three houses. A photographic record of the steading buildings was submitted to the HER in April 2009 to comply with a planning condition. This shows that the majority of buildings are now modern corrugated iron sheds, but elements of the earlier buildings do survive. <1>
