------
Although standing on the original footprint of the sheepfold as recorded on the 1st edition OS map, this structure has been gradually completely rebuilt during drystone dyking training courses.
Wester Ross Project - Cathy Dagg, 23/03/04
------
On the N side of the public road along the shore at Badentarbat, there is a large rectangular sheepfold, now partly ruined. It is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Cromartyshire 1881, sheet iiia). An aerial photograph taken in 1951 shows additional pens around the N and W sides of the fold (visible on veertical air photograph RAF 540/506, frame 3368, flown 1951). These have now been removed but they were visible as parch marks in the summer of 1994.
Visited by RCAHMS (SDB) August 1994
