Two roofed buildings are depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map, (Caithness, 1876), sheet 1 c.250m NW of St John's Loch in an area annotated as Hunspow. They are now shown as roofless buildings on the latest edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1976), to the E of the road which leads from Brough to Dunnet.
