A small farmstead consisting of three buildings is depicted as roofed on the 1st editon of the OS 6-inch map, (Caithness, 1877, sheet vi), the largest building approximately 40m long. The farmstead is recorded in the OS Name Book as 'a small farmsteading' (ONB 1872). The main building is still depicted as roofed at both ends with the central section unroofed, on the latest edition of the OS 1:10000 map.
