Full Description
NH20SE 17 2889 0320
A possible enclosure, located towards the S end of Coille Torr a' Chait, was recorded during a forestry survey by Headland Archaeology (NMRS MS 899/64, no.4). Surviving as a D-shaped hollow, measuring roughly 4.4m by 2.5m and 0.3m deep. There are traces of a turf-covered bank roughly 1m wide and 0.3m high on the N side. It may represent the remains of an enclosure or pen although it could also be a tree-throw. The surface remains are noticeably more regular than other, undoubted, tree-throws in the area.
