Full Description
A horizontal mill, situated near the mouth of an un named burn flowing out from Loch Ard, was recorded during a pre-afforestation survey by Headland Archaeology (NMRS MS 899/80, no.1). The mill, which measures 6m from N to S by 4.5m and standing a few courses high, lies at the base of a craggy rock outcrop. A burn runs through the structure, on the N side of which is a circular drystone structure measuring 2m in diameter and standing up to 0.7m in height.
