Full Description
A single-storey building immediately to the E of the Roman Catholic chapel (NG20NE 41) on Canna was formerly the smithy. It is of random rubble construction and is now roofless. A hole in its W gable-end has revealed a stone basin or quernstone, which appears to have been incorporated within the wall. The smithy occupies the site of an eighteenth- century corn mill (NG20NE 40). <1>
