Information from Pat Allan, 6/10/95

A survey of the archaeological and historic features was undertaken within Abernethy Forest Reserve for the RSPB in 1995.

A small isolated irregular field clearance heap, 10.5m in length E/W and 6.9m in length N/S. It comprises a rough, turf-covered tumble within a modern pasture, rising to 7m in height. RECOMMENDATIONS: Maintain site as open ground. Avoid ground disturbance as such heaps if started in antiquity have sometimes attracted secondary burials.<1>

NGR adjusted based on 1999-2001 vertical aerial photographs. <2>

Note NGR incorrect in report. (TB 20/2/26)
