Full Description
A survey of the archaeological and historic features was undertaken within Abernethy Forest Reserve for the RSPB in 1995.
Building platform 0.65m high at E end with stone footings of at least one building on top. Made of very large blocks of sandstone and schist. Platform 7.4m E/W at north end, 9.45m N/S along east side, 6.5m E/W at south end and 8.5m N/S at end. Possible door c.4m along W side, in footings which stand, in places to 0.4m. Enclosure wall outlined as occasional rubble blocks 6.2m to E. This is shown as a much larger roofed building with a byre abutting to the east on the 1863 OS map. <1>
