Full Description

A survey of the archaeological and historic features was undertaken within Abernethy Forest Reserve for the RSPB in 1995.

The foundation of a drystane structure, possibly a bothy. The structure is obscured by fallen trees and bracken but appears to have well-defined edges. It measures 9.4m N/S on its long axis and 4.4m E/W. The wall and associated tumble is 2.8m thick. There is a turn to the east 2.5m internally, with a short continuation of the feature 1.9m east. <1>
