A survey of the archaeological and historic features was undertaken within Abernethy Forest Reserve for the RSPB in 1995.

The remains of a pre-clearance building are located here, 11.2m north of a large lime kiln. The building platform and the footings of 3 walls are clearly remaining, although covered with heather. They are 10.9m in length, 310° NW and 6m wide, 37° NE, and could be associated with the kiln (No. 37). <1>
