Fragment of a carving, depicting a male face. Eyes open, clear carving remains of hair, beard and moustache. Piece is broken along bottom of face and to left and right of face. Flat on top of head, suggesting the piece once supported another stone/ arch. Appears 15th/16th century in date. Fine grey-white ? Sandstone?. Measurements (approx) - L: 105mm W: 100mm Thickness: 75mm.
Found North of "Dunvegan Castle", on beach, Skye. Found Feb. 1998.
