Full Description

An Archaeological Field Inspection was carried out by the "Centre for Field Archaeology" in 1997. The inspection was carried out in advance to proposed extension of sand and gravel working. The sites identified were two quarries and a possible old track which are of recent origin.
A single quarry scoop forming an oval depression was located at NC 8913 6317.
A kidney- shaped scoop was located at NC 8913 6314.
The partial remains of an old track was located at NC 8915 6313, defined by a linear spread of stones c. 1.2m wide by 3m in length.
