Full Description
A group of abandoned croft houses just outside the village of Arisaig. These houses were abandoned, but not thought to be related to the clearances. The local names for the houses are 1) Taigh Raughe, 2) Taigh and Mhor and Taigh Iain Anghus. Located on sheltered spots on slightly raised ground. All three houses are in a ruined state with only partial walls remaining. 20 min. walk E to a stream - Allt Dail an Dubh-assaidh.
Cultivation strips (lazybeds) are in front of the houses and to the E is a large area which has been cut for peat. Heavily silted drainage ditches. Each house has a mature rowan growing in it or near-by.
