Full Description

On S. facing slope, below Dun Kearstach, and 10m east of the Allt a' Gairuillt burn are the remains of a sub-circular stone and turf built structure measuring 4m by 3m wide over walls 0.6m wide. The walls stand to 0.3m high and there is no visible entrance. 80m to the east is a second degraded structure 4m by 3m, made of thin slabs set on edge. <1>

The first structure mentioned may just be visible in vertical aerial photographs, but the second structure is not. The plan of the features with respect to their relative positions to the east of the Allt a' Gairuillt burn is problematic for their locations as the burn is shown running north-south whereas in reality it flows east-west [IS-L 08/10/2025].
