Full Description

Orbost Estate Survey - Hlink, refer to site 55.
Amongst conifers on both sides of the forest access track. Marked as "Forse" on the 1:25,000 OS map. The remains of eleven houses, fifteen byres and nine associated enclosures. The houses range in size from 31.0m by 8.0m to 16.0m by 6.0m and survive in varying states of preservation. A small, well preserved clapper bridge survives at the south end of the settlement, marking the point where the original road crossed the Forse Burn. Lazy bed cultivation lies in and around the settlement.
