Full Description
Gateway to field on E (seaward) side of the A9 is a pair of whalebones. According to land owner, put up sometime in the last century. The bones were from a whale washed up on the local beach. <1>
Pair of ribs, with vertebrae forming top part of gate. Bolted with large iron bolts & nuts. Holes in the whalebone farther down indicate may have been re-used. Photos. <2>
