Full Description

Sputie Quarry was worked during the 19th century to provide sandstone for housing in the local vicinity.
Mentioned in the 1st Statistical Account for Clyne.

Located in an area of numerous steep undulations is a larger depression containing one rock face a lots of small stones. Also in the vicinity are small areas possibly dug into undulations. No clear quarry but slump and smaller quarrying activity may be masking any definition. <1>
