A moothill of the Mackintoshes (locally known as Tom Mhoid) has been cut through by the railway between Culloden and Dalcross stations. The hill is about fifty feet high and seems to have been partly protected by a ditch.
ISSFC 1885.
'Tom Mhoid' is a "natural mound covered with fir wood and through which the Highland Railway passes. The tradition regarding the mound is that, during the times of feudal warfare,. Courts of Justice were held on its summit. It signifies 'Court Hill'"
Name Book 1870.
Tom Mhoid - A large natural sandy hillock, cut through by the railway. The "ditch" is a broad natural hollow some distance from its base on the south side.
