Vertical aerial photography shows a complex of dykes and buildings on either side of several north-south running tributary burns which feed into the Allt na h-Eirighe which itself has a confluence with the River Loy just to the south. The most northerly of the associated structures is a sheep fold at NGR 210634 784723 (see MHG65414), which may have been constructed out of an abandoned farmstead, with an associated structure which was probably a kiln (see MHG30504). At least three rectangular/sub-rectangular buildings lie immediately to the north and northwest of the probably later circular sheep fold at NGR 210786 784532 (see MHG30739) with a fourth larger rectangular building at NGR 210685 784510. The place name 'Achadh na h-Eirighe' translates as 'Field of the Shieling' and the settlement may have been a later development or expansion of an older shieling site, itself later superceded by at least two sheep folds (as above at the given NGRs). A group of probable shieling huts are located just to the west on the opposite side of the Allt na h-Eirighe (see MHG64513). <1> <2>
