Full Description

A Whitley aircraft crashed on Jan. 6th, 1942. It flew into the hill called 'Carn a Choire Moire'. A memorial was erected at the top of the wreckage trail 20 yards from the Trig point. Serial No. N1498. Sqd. 19 O.T.U.

Email correspondence from Andrew Ker in May 2012 provided a record of the text, now apparently illegible, on the memorial. It read:
