Full Description

Achleek House is situated SE of the A884 road on a steep slope above Rudha na Stroine, with striking views over Loch Sunart and the Ardnamurchan peninsula. It was marked as a partially roofed building in 1875 and was refurbished in 2003. Traces of the SW unroofed portion survive as a row of large boulders at the SW end, 6m NE-SW and up to 0.85m high. The house was part of Achleek settlement (SMR NM76SE0003), which was occupied by at least 1801. (Gaskell, 1968, 164)
