1st ed OS shows formal gardens & policy around the castle, although shape more structured on the W than E. Heavily wooded to SW & SE. Large walled gardens to W of castle. Walks in front of the castle in oval shape. Building in circular enclosure with approaching paths in woods to SE of castle. Clumps of trees in open space in front of castle. Lodge in SW woodland. - HAW 10/2002
