Full Description

Stone-Lined Burn.
Small, E-flowing tributary burn of Allt Smeòrail in a 1m deep gully, appears to have a roughly, stone-lined bank, 0.8m high and 0.7m wide on its N side only. This may have been purposely constructed for support or maybe just placed as a result of excavating the burn channel to improve flow and loading the spoil on the bank side. The lining ceases at the break of slope as the burn rushes down the steep face of the slope down to the lowest river terrace. <1>
