Full Description

A small, round arched, stone bridge, with low parapets, crossing the Allt an t-Seana-bhaile. The bridge is likely to be contemporary with the original construction of the road up Strathbrora, which was probably undertaken by the Sutherland estate at the turn of the eighteenth/nineteeth centuries (Mackay 1840, 160; Adam 1972, vol. Ii, 225). The west bank of the burn has been revetted, while the bed of the burn is cobbled immediately below the bridge, indicative perhaps of the presence of an earlier ford.
