Full Description
Hill Cairn.
Small, but prominent cairn, comprising angular, pinky-white, quartz-rich blocks on a high point overlooking the deep-cut Allt Smeòrail valley to the SE below. The cairn has a 2m diameter, grass-overgrown base of rock and a central rock pile, around 1m in diameter and 0.5m high. The grassy mound on which the cairn is situated is surrounded completely by fresh, young heather and the ridge from here to the NE has many small outcrops of the quartz-rich rock, and forms the proposed site of one of the three quarries. <1>
