Full Description

Grouse Butt.
The uppermost grouse butt in this row is markedly different in style to all of the others. There is no sign of any degradation - it is purely a stocky, linear butt measuring 2m x 1m, standing 0.9m high and trending 179 degrees. It is topped with a luxuriant overgrowth of long, tufty grass and is set on a boggy, sedge-covered open moorland plateau. <1>
