Full Description

Grouse Butt.
This U-shaped grouse butt, measuring 3m deep by 2.5m wide, is quite degraded, with collapsed peat sidewalls. The leading wall survives to 0.7m high and up to 1m thick, but the sidewalls are only 0.4m high. The entrance, opening to 075 degrees, is 1m wide, and this butt is surrounded by flowing water on more gently SW-sloping, open moorland. <1>
