Full Description

The 1st edition Ordnance Survey map (of c. 1870) shows a multi-celled rectilinear structure at this location - associated with a series of enclosures, tracks and a well. The 2nd edition OS depicts the house within a single enclosure beside a gravel pit. Current OS mapping shows only a rectangular footprint of the structure.

A planning application (IN-02-924) to build close to this area required the provision of a photographic record. A series of photographs was taken of the remains of this structure and the general area prior to the start of the development. The Photographs were taken by the David Miller and are held in CD library. A watching brief on te new house plot was conducted - this work did not disturb the first edition house remains.
