Full Description

A network of radio masts were erected when a government 'Radio Station' was built in 1939. The masts covered a large area of the back beach in the area known as the Gleneagles Golf Course, and were dismantled when the station closed down in 1986. In some areas the concrete bases of the aerials are now eroding out of sand dunes and some are sinking into the sand on the foreshore.
