Full Description
During work to dismantle the C19th house on this site a wall from a dwelling constructed of tree trunks was found within it. The old strucure was built in an old style unique to the Highlands, known as cruck framing. It measured approx. 12ft across at floor level, and 12ft high. The wall was made of pine trunks set upright, infilled with straw and a mixture of mud and pine needles.
