Oblique aerial photographs (RCAHMSAP 1995) show five or six fairways of a possible former private golf course, immediately to the S of Castle Leod (NH45NE 9.00). To the NE of the golfcourse is a former hockey pitch and a cricket ground.

An archaeological survey of features within the policies of Castle Leod, Strathpeffer, Ross-shire, was carried out by members of the North of Scotland Archaeological Society January – May 2013.

Site 30. Possible Golf Course previously recorded from aerial photographs of 1995. No evidence of a golf course was seen in the field to the west of the avenue of trees south of Castle Leod and no knowledge of a golf course is known by local people. <1>
