A group of four huts, four mounds and three enclosures lies below the main crag of Beul Lama Sgorr beyond the uppermost cultivated terrace. The group is situated at the head of a small valley and extends N as the valley narrows between two ridges of outcrop. The four huts are subrectangular on plan, and range from 2.1m to 2.4m in length, and from 1.4 to 1.6m in breadth, within grass-grown stony banks up to 1.4m in thickness and 0.6m in height. All appear to be set on top of mounds, two of which are offset to the S and have been recorded separately; these are probably all that now survive of earlier structures. The two remaining mounds both contain stones, and, although no structural elements are visible, they are undoubtedly the remains of huts. The three enclosures vary in shape, but two are defined by boulders and the third, which is tucked into the foot of a rock outcrop, is of drystone construction.
(Canna 713-23).
